Adam Castle is a curator, events producer, artist-filmmaker and performer .

Adam won the Leadership Award at the Creative Edinburgh Awards 2016 for his work on Pollyanna and EAMIF. “This award recognises an outstanding individual for their leadership and contribution to their sector, or the creative industries as a whole.

Adam is the director, event coordinator and head curator of the Edinburgh Artists’ Moving Image Festival, an annual event celebrating video art, experimental film and films made by artists.

Adam is the director and event coordinator of Pollyanna, a late-night cabaret held at Paradise Palms in Edinburgh. Hosted by feral queer creature Pollyfilla, the night is a showcase of performance art, drag, cabaret and queer and alternative performance.

Adam’s films feature characters giving orders and instructions, playing out repetitive romances and using music and movement to perform to each other. Examining the line between cliché and truth, they explore how media and popular culture is absorbed and re-performed.
